Owen was only 5 days old when he made his first trip to Cedar Lake Speedway. The second-generation race car driver spent his first 5 years hanging out in the garage with his dad's modified. In 2008, his uncle Pete gave him a Quarter Midget for his 5th birthday and he has been going flat out ever since.
Throughout his time in Quarter Midgets he racked up hundreds of wins, several track and regional championships, and even a 2017 USAC National Championship. His determined and aggressive driving style earned him the nickname “ShOtime" or “O-Show".
Owen's ultimate goal in racing, is to compete full time with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car series. The next step to accomplishing that goal is the ultra-competitive A-class Micro Sprint series. We focus our racing to the central US, from Nebraska to Indiana, Minnesota to Texas and everywhere in between.
That focused and determined driving style has already paid off in 2018 with a couple feature wins and several top 10's racing nearly 40 shows across 10 states! For 2019 we are planning over 50 races with the Micro Sprints, plus some 360 Sprint Car events throughout the central US.
More Quarter Midget History:
In 2012 we started traveling more and trying some of the larger national races with great success. We would run our home track at Elko, MN and branch out at the QMA Grands events and USAC.25 events whenever possible. In 2016, we were always running on the road, wherever the largest race is across the country is where we were. We raced in the Light Honda 160, Light Briggs World Formula and Modified World Formula classes. Every year we race 32 - 36 weekends per year, from California to New York on both dirt and asphalt tracks, both QMA and USAC sanctioned events.
